Description: Musicians and Singers are public performers who may play more than one instrument or sing for a live audience. These performers may either be a part of a large band or perform solo, with backup musicians or singers. Some of the genres of music these performers tap into are opera, classic, jazz, rock, metal, punk, hip hop, R&B, country, reggae and gospel. There are no formal post-secondary school requirements to become a musician or singer. However, those who focus on classical styles or opera will typically pursue a Bachelor's degree.
